CMS Software solutions
Used by hundreds of organisations, the CMS database was first written in 1988. It has evolved now into a database that :
- guides you through the management planning process,
- that through the production of work plans makes the management plan a working document instead of a plan that sits on the shelf
- that integrates recording of work done with the plan which in turn makes future planning easier because you know what happened in the past
- with flexible reporting tools, amongst numerous examples, CMS7 allows you to report back to funders, against established targets or compare management and monitoring across sites.
Web demonstrations of the software and the modules described below are available from the exeGesIS website.
CMS7 is the current version. It is fully compatible with Natura2000 and Ramsar requirements but is so flexible that it can be easily customised for any language and for any type of management plan from Green Flag sites and open spaces to golf courses or industrial properties.
A CMS MapLink module allow the management plan to integrate with GIS so that you can map where work is to occur or where it actually happened and also jump to data stored in the full relational database of CMS directly from an object in GIS.
A CMS LibraryLink module allows you to integrate photographs and documents with the management plan so that you can link directly to the raw monitoring data sheets or photographs related to particular projects.
CMS Connect allows you to create spreadsheets for work recording for staff, volunteers or partner organisations who do not have direct access to the database. These spreadsheets can then be integrated back into CMS at the click of a button.
Training in management planning theory and the CMS software is available as are MapInfo training courses and ArcGIS training courses.
